Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy.About The RoleWe are looking for a creative entrepreneurial Principal Product Manager to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Gusto Wallet’s suite of financial & wellness benefits geared towards employees of small businesses (aka Members). This role requires a unique combination of high-level strategic thinking, customer obsession, growth mindset and focused execution.Here’s What You’ll Do Day-to-dayPartner with engineering, design, data science and other cross-functional partners across the Gusto ecosystem to build end-to-end delightful experiences for Members.Identify emerging technology and industry trends, build business cases, and define vision, strategy, and product roadmap for Members.Encourage a culture of experimentation, learning, and a growth mindset, never settling for the status quo and constantly innovating.Work through user, customer segment and competitive research to identify Members needs and product experiences for web and mobile.Define, understand, and improve key product and business metrics. Strong excitement about the business impact of your work, and can ruthlessly prioritize across the roadmap to deliver big outcomes.Drive the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products that delight customers and result in significant and measurable business impact.Here’s What We're Looking For8+ years of hands-on product management experience.High attention to detail, strong bias for action and highly organized.Track record of delivering consumer and/or platform solutions in regulated environments like HR, finance, or healthcare (ideal candidate has fintech experience).Strong working knowledge of feature sets employees and contractors expect from a Payroll or personal financial services provider.Applied knowledge of unit economics and monetization drivers in payroll and fintech spaces.Demonstrated use of data and experiments to make decisions that improve product funnels, and ultimately customer experiences and business metrics.Experience launching a net new product within an established company, and managing that delicate balance between running fast to get to market, and bringing others along for the journey to ensure scalability.Experience driving growth of product from launch phase to scaled adoption including:Strong product discovery and research skills.Ability to set a strategy and translate to a roadmap with end-to-end execution.Proven track record of building products customers love and taking them from launch to scale.Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to:Paint a compelling vision to inspire your teams and senior leaders by articulating and building business models and supporting roadmap.Articulate customer pain points.An owner’s mindset - entrepreneurial, driven, passionate about our mission, and have deep empathy for our customers.Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $144,000 to $178,000 in Denver & most major metro locations, and $186,000 to $230,000 for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately2-3 daysper week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we.
