About the role

As the Business Development Manager – Residential, you will lead our efforts to build and maintain strong relationships across Volume Home Builders. Your role is pivotal in driving specification sales, increasing brand presence, and delivering commercial outcomes across the detached market.

You’ll champion GWA’s portfolio of innovative bathroom and kitchen solutions, ensuring our products are seamlessly integrated into projects and valued for both their function and design.

Some of the key responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Developing and executing strategic business plans focused on residential volume home builders.
  • Managing and fostering strong relationships with preferred merchants
  • Identifying new business opportunities and maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
  • Driving revenue and margin growth through effective sales planning and customer engagement.
  • Promoting GWA’s solutions across full bathroom portfolios—not just individual products.
  • Capturing project specifications, activity, and engagement notes in our CRM.
  • Ensuring product and brand messaging aligns with customer needs and project objectives.
  • Staying informed on industry trends, regulations, and competitor activity within the residential sector.

About you

This is a high-profile role and as such our ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Sales, ideally within the building products or construction sector.
  • A minimum of 5 years in the residential construction market, with established relationships across key stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to manage senior-level relationships and influence commercial outcomes.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Sales and marketing expertise, with a deep understanding of residential project lifecycles.
  • CRM experience, with a disciplined approach to activity tracking and forecasting.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a consultative approach to selling.
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, Architecture, Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
