Job Description

About the Role

As an Area Controller, your main focus will be on selling and profit in your Area through partnership and development of our store teams.

This field role reports into the Area Manager and is based out of Secaucus, NJ.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

  • Take main responsibility for maximizing Selling & Profit in the Area through performance of the physical stores
  • Execute the Commercial Plan for the Area based on the Regional plan
  • Secure Omni Customer Experience through qualitative & efficient Work Force Planning and operations
  • Partner with the Sales market team to set annual budget & forecast process for Sales, Efficiency &  Costs
  • Guide the Area to reach top & bottom-line goals
  • Set hourly function plan with Store management to enable strong store operations, efficiency, and a great colleague and customer experience
  • Secure strong execution by aligning function plan and schedules.
  • Partner with the rest of the Area team to set the desired staff levels for all stores in your Area,  in line with Sales market goals
  • Identify, develop and coach talents & foster multi-function collaboration

Required domestic and international travel up to 60% of the time

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, Business or Economics or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of retail leadership or people management, preferably in retail management
  • 1 – 3 years in a business analyst or finance role for a retail company preferred
  • Strong commitment and experience with providing a high level of customer service
  • Ability to coach and counsel staff and performance management and progressive discipline techniques
  • Inclusive, positive, open to feedback, willing to multitask and learn on the job
  • Strong commitment and experience with providing a high level of customer service
  • Ability to coach and counsel colleagues on performance management and progressive discipline techniques
  • Store orientation and commitment to store management development
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to company specific systems
  • Platform training skills and ability to communicate complex technical information in a simple and easy way

Additional Information

Compensation: salary range is $101,000 - $114,000 annually**
