Head of Business Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader as a Head of Business Operations to lead and manage the overall operations of business functions, namely, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Order Management & Licensing Ops. This individual will develop and implement a comprehensive operations strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.

The role will be responsible for optimizing the company's scale by collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment between marketing, sales, and customer experience teams. Your strategic mindset, operational expertise, and leadership skills will be crucial in driving the company's growth and ensuring operational efficiency across all departments.

What would you do, if hired?

  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize business performance and drive growth.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Customer Success, Professional Services, and Finance, ensuring seamless coordination and collaboration.
  • Manage end-to-end cross-functional projects using a combination of data, context, and business judgment to get to the right outcomes
  • Design, coordinate and facilitate short-term and long-term planning activities across other functions and stakeholders at Celigo.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to drive individual and team excellence.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness and efficiency of business operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve interdepartmental communication, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify challenges in the business that require intervention; investigate and strategize on solutions with respective business leaders
  • Partner with technology and systems teams to ensure credibility and robustness of data and analytics
  • Facilitate annual planning processes for the business functions, including top line goal setting, development of strategies and OKRs, and coordination across teams
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and internal teams, to ensure alignment and achieve business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and recommend innovative strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proven experience of 10-12 years in leading operations or in operational roles within a SaaS company or relevant industry.
  • Strong understanding of the SaaS business model and experience managing operations in Customer Success, Professional Services, Revenue, and Marketing functions.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Diverse background through exposure to different functions and businesses - possibly through consulting, biz-ops, or similar roles driving x-company transformation programs.
  • Executive presence - demonstrated ability to engage with C-suite executives in companies of similar scale.
  • Conceptual thinking - the ability to analyze theoretical ideas, connect the bigger picture at hand to develop alternative approaches to solving problems and create new insights.
  • Strong communication skills, especially around breaking down complex processes into digestible and relevant points (business process management notation) for a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels
  • Hands-on leader who can dig into details when needed
  • 'Self-starter', 'independent thinker' with the ability to conceptualize, communicate (written and verbal) effectively and solicit alignment and buy-in at multiple levels across the organization
  • Experience in Agile concepts, tools, and methodology to deliver projects

Pay Scale Information

Celigo reasonably expects to pay a base salary between $175,000 and $225,000 for this position. Actual starting base pay will be determined by skills, experience, geographic location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, benefits, or other perks as outlined in any formal employment offer made.
