What to expect in your role
You will be joining a small, tight-knit team that has built successful venture-backed businesses in the past, and are excited to do it again.
This position will be responsible for end-to-end compliance and risk controls for our banking and investing product. This includes all pieces of the compliance & risk process, including vendor selection, fraud oversight, platform requirements, rules, procedure, and recovery.
This role is fully remote (US only).
What you'll do
- Compliance Policy & Strategy
- Lead all aspects of the development, implementation, and oversight of programs that support effective risk and compliance management
- Follow written compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities
- Compliance Oversight
- Counsel staff and management on governance & risk management / oversight
- Work with regulated agencies and vendors to ensure compliance with applicable policies
- Fraud & Risk Policy & Strategy
- Develop the fraud strategy foundation and spearhead analyses to inform management and influence organization policies
- Track, communicate and draw insights from the performance of ongoing initiatives
- Develop internal policies, procedures as needed to govern and execute fraud and risk strategies
- Fraud Risk Oversight
- Create & own fraud management framework to oversee fraud loss KPIs
- Build a team to monitor and implement fraud mitigation efforts
- Define requirements to ensure product compliance as new features are launched
- Cross-functional engagement
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Product, & Finance to turn insights into action.
- Develop and manage business practices that continuously incorporate analytics into operational execution.
What your experience looks like
- 10+ years banking and/or lending / securities experience, across compliance & fraud life cycle. Preferably within a regulated entity.
- Ability to identify key risks, mitigants, and appropriate action plans with Copper Departments.
- Ability to lead a compliance program, including coordination of activities across departments, training, policy development, risk assessments, & employee communication.
- Ability to design and develop fraud solutions, run and assess data analysis and recommend solutions.
- Experience in building and leading high performing teams.
- Experience creating reporting and dashboards for executive review.
- Analytical, relationship, and project management skills for driving large cross functional initiatives
- Deep domain experience in asset & liability banking products. Experience in fraud modeling and data management.
- Direct experience working with cross functional internal teams and external vendors to implement strategies and drive results
