Our users entrust us with some of their most sensitive and personal financial information, and it is the sacred mission of our Security team to ensure we have the right programs, detection, and automation in place to safeguard our customers' data. As a security leader at Valon, you'll help define our security program to protect the infrastructure and data for processing billions of dollars of mortgage loans. You'll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, compliance, and more. You'll engage with external security auditors, pentesting firms, and partners, and seek to win their confidence and satisfaction on Valon's security posture.
- Define the holistic security vision at Valon and execute against the roadmap you build.
- Understand the right balance of risk, prioritize appropriately, and drive high return on investment security improvements.
- Provide security expertise and guidance to many cross-functional stakeholders.
- Devise and carry out security programs (E.g. vendor management, SOC 2, incident response, etc).
- Communicate with external parties to ensure Valon's security program meets all the necessary requirements from regulatory agencies, partners, customers, and vendors.
- Learn new concepts and technologies quickly and apply them to solve today's attack vectors.
- Scale and hire a security team.
Ideal Background
- Multiple years of security engineering in early stage, security-conscious companies.
- Strong communicator. Able to work cross-functionally with a wide spectrum of stakeholders to balance security and product requirements.
- Time management skills that will maximize efficiency in a fast paced startup environment
- Has led security programs (E.g. insider risk, incident response, detection & response, etc) in addition to security engineering.
- Experience in a heavily regulated fintech startup environment, where you have to constantly prioritize regulations, partner requirements, and customer data protection - all while moving at breakneck speed with limited resources.
