Head of Talent

We are seeking an experienced Head of Talent who will be responsible for the design and consistent execution of Tyler’s talent management, talent development and engagement and culture practices, which strengthen our culture, ensure retention and career mobility of team members, and provide the leadership pipeline needed to address business priorities and support the achievement of Tyler’s strategic plan.

As a member of the HR Senior Leadership team, and reporting directly to the CHRO, the Head of Talent partners with Group HR leaders and executive and senior leaders across the business to support the identification, design, and delivery of talent management and development programs with a focus on key outcomes in the areas of talent management, talent engagement and retention, DEI, and leadership development, management effectiveness, and workforce planning and career development.

Note: Talent Acquisition is NOT a component of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead execution of the Talent Management and processes and establish HR metrics to inform talent decisions and influence talent impacts
  • Architect and drive transformational change and continuous improvement to align Talent to the business strategy
  • Lead effective Talent Review process with a focus on high potential, high performance, key talent in critical roles, targeted development, equitable promotion pipelines, and succession planning
  • Partner with leadership to create and manage a workforce plan that supports the talent management strategy and future talent needs, including an understanding of key roles, spans and layers, and development and retention for internal mobility and succession planning
  • Support implementation of DEI strategy and partner effectively with the diversity and inclusion council to drive an equitable, inclusive and positive culture
  • Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, including current job descriptions, standards of performance and performance evaluation instruments.
  • Create and maintain an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity and competitive advantage in support of the company's diversity and inclusion strategic plan.
  • Conduct presentations and training.
  • Work closely with key Senior HR Leaders to collect and coordinate aggregate talent data and translate those data into insights through data analysis that drives deliberate action plans at the appropriate levels.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience leading an HR function for technology companies as a director or vice president
  • Experience designing and leading DEI initiatives with proven results for hiring, promotion, and retention
  • Successfully led HR functions through strategic change
  • Demonstrated ability to align talent and people initiatives to organizational strategies
  • Ability to effectively foster change through transition and results and partner closely with leadership and HR colleagues to achieve success
  • Adapts easily to change with the ability to navigate complexity in a broad, integrated way
  • Independent thought leader with ability to influence with impact
  • Proven leadership experience in talent management, talent development, and building early talent programs with strengths in strategic execution, change management, continuous improvement and culture building
  • Results orientation and ability to problem-solve issues
  • Adept at managing multiple competing projects, often in ambiguous and agile situations
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and exert influence with impact and drive decisions
  • Attitude for building trusting relationships and creating a harmonious work environment
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
