Founding Product Engineer

HealthLeap helps to identify, treat, and prevent malnutrition, one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in healthcare. Also building a general-purpose platform to address a broader range of health conditions. We just raised a seed round from top-tier investors.

HealthLeap's AI platform is currently used by Cedars-Sinai to screen every admitted hospital patient daily. Following a successful hospital-wide pilot, Cedars-Sinai signed a multi-year contract with HealthLeap. HealthLeap is now profitable and has a waitlist of over 50 hospitals interested in implementing the platform. We also signed a distribution partnership with a fast-growing synergistic business.

HealthLeap is co-publishing a research paper with clinical leaders from Stanford Health, Johns Hopkins, and Cedars-Sinai. The paper is currently undergoing peer review in high-impact journals.

We’re looking for an exceptional Founding Software Engineer to join our dynamic founding team and play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our AI-driven healthcare platform from the ground up. As a key member of our early engineering team, you will focus on building an intuitive, responsive, and visually appealing product using modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Next.js, and Python. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on patient lives by creating engaging and user-friendly experiences that empower healthcare professionals to deliver better care.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, responsive, and accessible products using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Next.js

• Collaborate closely with product designers, and other engineers to deliver seamless and intuitive user experiences.

• Define and drive the overall front-end technical strategy and architecture.

• Guide and implement best-practice monitoring, alerting, testing, and development workflows as an early team member.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, code quality, and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and take responsibility for the product experience.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in development using modern tools like React, JS/TypeScript, Python.

• Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Jest, Cypress).

• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch).

• Experience with CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS, internal libraries.

• Familiarity with Next.js or other server-side rendering frameworks, and backend REST/GraphQL development in Python/JS/TS/Go.

• Looking for an early-stage role with high ownership and impact.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with data visualization libraries like D3.js or Chart.js.

• Experience with DynamoDB, modern global-scale database design patterns.

• History working on a healthcare product, or similar.
