Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for the Oceanscout Glider and other marine robotics products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, and systems engineers) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the overall product.
  • Perform detailed mechanical design analysis, including stress, strain, fatigue, cyclic, pressure, and other testing.
  • Conduct material selection, prototyping, and testing to ensure product durability in challenging underwater environments.
  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., Onshape) to create 3D models and technical drawings.
  • Support the assembly and testing of prototypes, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve product performance.
