Total Rewards Specialist

The Total Rewards Specialist manages and administers all benefits and retirement plans for Helios, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan. This role also handles benefits selection, assisting employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifying all insurance billing, and ensuring compliance with required benefit notices and reporting.

 WHAT HELIOS NEEDS FROM YOU: 

  • Manages and administers all employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits. 
  • Researches and makes recommendations to the leadership team regarding all employee benefits. 
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment. 
  • Conducts benefits orientations and explains benefits to employees, including during new hire orientation.  
  • Maintains employee benefits filing systems and ensures benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction. 
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data. 
  • Preps and leads all open enrollments, including distributing all benefits enrollment materials and determining eligibility. 
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes. 
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Assists employees with health, dental, life, and other related benefit claims.
  • Verifies the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolves administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Administers COBRA.
  • Obtains statistics and information in the renewal process of any health, life, and retirement plans that benefit the company.
  • Prepares and sets up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensures distribution of required employee notices.
  • Ensures completion of benefits reporting requirements.
  • Assists other departments and employees as necessary.
  • Compile and analyze market data on compensation for all positions to determine competitive and consistent compensation package offerings.
  • Performs related activities as directed.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • High school diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits administration.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, and CEBS professional designations preferred. 

 

Helios' compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The total pay for this position ranges from $80,000 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $100,000 annually in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Helios compensation may also include annual bonus, commissions, equity, sign-on payments, as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
