Role Overview

The HR Lead will provide leadership and direction in supporting the Marketing & Business Development and Corporate Communications functions globally in achieving their strategic goals. As a business partner for both the Global Chief Marking Officer (CMO) and Global Chief Communications Officer (CCO), this role will provide guidance and advice on strategic and operational matters across multiple jurisdictions, to support the changing needs of these business functions.

The HR Lead will support the Global Head of Talent Management with key strategic projects for our global Business Team, as part of our ambition to be an employer of choice in the legal industry. This will include a specific focus on developing the capability and potential of our Business Team talent, and promoting a collaborative and inclusive culture which helps to engage, motivate and retain our people. 

This role will also provide dedicated generalist support to the firm's Business Team functions based in the UK, supporting the wider UK HR team, as appropriate with specific HR projects and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Working with the Global Head of Talent Management on a range of specific projects for the global Business Team to support our ambition of being an employer of choice.
  • Working closely with the M&BD and Corporate Communications Business Leaders globally in achieving their strategic objectives and ensuring the implementation of HR initiatives in a timely and effective manner, to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Develop an understanding of the business environment within which the functions operate in order to provide appropriate advice and align people strategy with business strategy;                             
  • Provide professional support and advice to the business leaders on strategic and operational matters such as, but not limited to: change management, organisational design and effectiveness, employee relations, performance management, talent management, workforce planning, salary and bonus reviews, international secondments, and interpreting policy;
  • Advise business leaders on employee relations issues ensuring that employees are treated fairly and consistently and that the firm is not exposed to financial/legal liabilities;

All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program.

  • The job holder will have a high level of energy, drive and commerciality combined with the presence and credibility to deal with a discerning audience.  They will be flexible and adaptable in their approach, in order to manage the needs of their clients who are across multiple time zones. They will demonstrate a collaborative style, and will work as an effective team member who is able to build a network of credible relationships internally and externally.   

Qualifications & Training

  • HR experience gained in a professional services or similar sector environment
  • Previous experience of working at a Senior HR Business Partner level and in a role that has had regional or global responsibility.
  • CIPD qualified
