You are someone who is plugged deeply into your city's pulse. You are equal parts creative and analytical and you get things done. You understand relationships and the people behind those relationships. You are someone who loves the energy small businesses bring, and the sense of community they offer. You understand how small businesses run in your city. You are passionate about helping small businesses discover products that will make their work and lives better.
The Job
Reporting to the Product Marketing & Brand Lead, this 4-6 month internship will be focused on developing Homebase's presence in local markets. You will work closely with the marketing and sales teams to understand and communicate with the customer and create the first set of strategic relationships in your city to build advocacy. You will lean on existing customer champions and find ways to create referral connections from these champions. You will be the face of Homebase in your city. Your work will ultimately drive brand awareness and create a viral word-of-mouth loop in driving small business owners & managers to Homebase.
You will make an impact by
• Identifying and building relationships with key small business influencers and partners such as the local Chamber of Commerce and Main Street
• Developing the right media strategy to create awareness for Homebase based on your insights into the city's culture and events
• Building a locally relatable yet differentiated social presence that drives virality within the small business community
• Setting up Homebase's first local customer advocacy program that accelerates the referrals and recommendation engine
• Creating and operationalizing a city playbook based on data-driven learnings that can be scaled to other cities in America
• Working cross-functionally with marketing and offline Sales to create a connected selling experience
You are a bar raiser, which means you come with
• Experience working in a small business or partnering with the SMBs
• A strong bias for action, and exceptional communication and operations skills
• Deep customer empathy
• Excellent project management skills
• Analytical mindset and comfort using data to diagnose and inform decisions
• Been curious, detail-oriented, and a problem-solver
• Completed or currently pursuing a BA/BS degree
• Experience in events and activations is a plus
