Engineered Wood Products Specialist/Sales Representative

The ideal candidate for this position should be a competitive self-starter that develops sales strategies for existing clients along with attracting new clients. Must be proficient in sourcing new sales opportunities as well as closing business opportunities to achieve established product group goals. Candidate will play a key role in generating revenue by cultivating current customer relationships, producing leads, and qualifying prospects, while promoting the Engineered Wood Products, product category. This opportunity requires as much technical knowledge & ability as it does salesmanship: 
 
Key Responsibilities:  
  
  • Maintain and expand client database within your assigned geography 
  • Evaluate customer’s skills, needs, etc. in efforts to build productive long-lasting business partnerships 
  • Meet or exceed personal & team mutually agreed upon sales targets 
  • Research accounts to generate follow-through sales leads & future business opportunities 
  • Attend customer sales meetings, product knowledge training sessions & Lumber or Truss Contractor Events. 
  • Report and provide ongoing market feedback to management 
Required Experience:  
 
  • Must have the knowledge & ability to read & comprehend architectural plans. 
  • Possess a strong understanding of structural framing. 
  • Direct interaction with the customer base assisting with their engineered wood product needs. 
  • Lead & conduct Engineered Wood Product Knowledge presentations to the customer base as needed. 
  • Suggest span tables, load charts, etc. to ensure proper sizing and installation of engineered wood products. 
Preferred Qualifications:  
  
  • College Degree (Preferred) 
  • Auto CAD (Preferred) 
Additional Information: 
 
Overnight travel as required
