Job Description

The co-op/intern will assist the Industrial Engineering/Lean Team with: continuous improvement, visual factory, 6S, time studies, facility layouts, kaizen events, and other industrial engineering related projects. Available blocks include the spring and/or summer semesters.

Qualifications

Position Overview

The position will report into and support the Industrial Engineering/Lean Team. In this role the main responsibilities will be: 

  • Work with Cross Functional Teams to Implement Improvements
  • Conduct Process Observations and Time Studies
  • Assist with Planning for Facility Layout Changes
  • Implement 6S and Visual Factory
  • Assist with Value Stream Mapping and Documenting Current State Flows
  • Participate in Kaizen Events

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Industrial Engineering or Related Discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Passion for Lean Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Previous Co-Op/Internship Experience or Previous Work Experience

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $18.00 and $26.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
