Backend Software Engineering Intern
We are seeking a Backend Engineer intern to contribute to our vehicle management and data systems. The ideal candidate is an ambitious self starter, passionate aboutour mission, and is eager to expand their scope beyond what is asked to help create a best in class vehicle management platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Work alongside our mobile application team to design and implement a production vehicle backend to manage real time vehicle data, notifications, and security
Develop infrastructure to host firmware releases and develop method for sending updates to customer vehicles
Help streamline operations across IM’s website, manufacturing, and mobile application
Participate in building roadmap for future connected vehicle features
Required Qualifications:
Ability to rapidly prototype and experiment with new software features
Self‑starter who thrives on independent ownership and close collaboration in a small team
Experience with cloud infrastructures (AWS or GCP)
Solid understanding of REST APIs
Solid understanding of databases and familiarity of data pipelines
Highly motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
Systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in automotive electronic systems or IoT devices; interest in electric vehicles or micro-mobility space
Experience with integrating Apple and Google services for mobile applications
Wide range of knowledge of modern backend technologies and able to weigh long term pros and cons of architecture decisions
Understanding of security and privacy considerations
