Truss Designer

Insight Global is seeking a REMOTE Truss Designer to join our client's team supporting projects across the South-Central US region.Must Haves:• 5+ years recent truss design experience• Working knowledge or preference for MiTek Sapphire/SE software• Experience with custom home designDay-to-Day Responsibilities:• Regional Design Team: Collaborate on projects across the South-Central US.• Truss Design & Layout: Prepare truss design and layout drawings, including beams and metal connectors.• Drawing Development: Create layout and design drawings from architectural plans or sketches.• Communication: Contact building designers or professionals to obtain or clarify information.• Sketches & Illustrations: Produce rough sketches or arrange for finished drawings/photographs to illustrate materials or assembly sequences.• Truss Repair Drawings: Prepare repair drawings for professional engineer review and approval.• Technical Descriptions: Write descriptions specifying material qualities and properties.• Review & Check: Review and modify drawings prepared by less experienced technicians.• Field Information: Gather and summarize information on field-modified or damaged products for engineer evaluation.• Data Analysis: Analyze technical data and reports to ensure design specifications are met.• Building Code Knowledge: Apply building code knowledge and address special truss industry issues.• Material Processing: Analyze plans, diagrams, or material processing notes to determine specifications for construction activities.
