Position Summary:

The Department of Art + Design at Arkansas State University invites applications for a full time, nontenured position to begin August 2023. The ideal candidate has expertise in both fashion retail and marketing and is interested in teaching undergraduate students of all levels. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty in the Department of Art + Design as well as those in the College of Business

Duties & Responsibilities:

• The faculty member will be teaching in a hybrid program that includes coursework both online and face-to-face
• Teaching load is normally fifteen hours per semester
• The position does not include research or service expectation
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required or applicable to the position responsibilities and area of specialization, including special abilities.

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising or related field

One (1) year of teaching at the university level

Willingness to teach both online and face-to-face; willingness to collaborate with other departments and colleagues across campus; willingness to maintain an up-to-date, innovative curriculum

Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more (2+) years working in the industry; experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students; experience teaching both online and face-to-face
