CCG is a computing paradigm where services and data reside in scalable data centers, and those services and data can be accessed by any connected device over the Internet. Responsible for designing and optimizing processors, chipsets and other hardware for consumer devices while also working on the software ecosystem, including drivers and utilities that enhance user experience.The Power System Architect will drive innovative power solution definition and system level partitioning from concept investigation and design through successful product level implementation that adds value to Intel Architecture platforms.Additionally, you will work with silicon, packaging, system and power architects on client computer system architecture investigations using single-phase and multi-phase dc-dc voltage regulators, ac/dc, and chargers. You will apply technical rigor to analyze design tradeoffs including system performance, power consumption and efficiency, physical size, cost, and high volume manufacturing. You will define, develop and release to market advanced wall-to-silicon power design for Intel's next generation client platforms.Additional duties include, but are not limited to:• Collaborate, review and influence connected teams including silicon / packaging / board / platform during all stages to ensure value propositions are identified and built out.• Interface with suppliers and customers during pathfinding and development.• Develop new components with integrated circuit, capacitor and inductor vendors.• Collaborate to develop new verification and validation methods, plans, and tools for qualifying ingredients and solutions.• Validate prototypes and perform competitive bench marking through lab testing.• Write and present technical documentation and other material and presentations for internal and external use.• Constantly look for ways to improve performance, quality, and cost.• Deliver improvements for our customers and have a direct impact on our bottom line.The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits: Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to clearly articulate the thought process. Ability to interpret and analyze data. Strong communication skills.QualificationsMinimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar with 6+years of relevant work experience, e.g. in consumer electronics or semiconductor companies.• 2+ years in a lead role in defining and designing power electronics systems such as battery chargers, ac/c, single- and multi- phase DC-DC regulators, control loops, operating modes, thermals, efficiency, passive components and power delivery network.• 5+ years’ experience with system design of small, medium, and large power systems such as chargers, battery, DC-DC Converters, ac-dc adapters, and power monitoring.Preferred Qualifications:• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar with 10+years of relevant work experience• Ability to predict performance using simulators, e.g. Spice, Simplis and Matlab, optimize schematic and PCB layout, and validate performance by lab measurements.• Strong ability to manage multiple projects, grow knowledge and capabilities of the power team, and perform hands-on testing• Background in analog or digital power design.
