Position Summary
:

We are seeking an independent and highly organized summer intern to join the Clinical Pharmacology team at Kriya. The intern will contribute to the development of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology model of adeno-associated virus (AAV) based gene therapy for first-in-human dose prediction. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain direct experience working in an industry setting across functional areas of drug development (Regulatory, CMC, Quality, Clinical, Preclinical).


Primary Responsibilities
:

The overall objective of the intern is to use quantitative modeling approaches to characterize/understand AAV kinetics and identify intrinsic factors that my influence transgene product expression:

  • Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of literature and in-house proprietary data
  • Develop mathematical models (e.g. PK/PD, Population PK, etc.)
  • Present to broader team at the conclusion of assignment
  • Conduct multivariate analysis to interrogate complex biological problems
  • Create models, analyses and reports using R, NONMEM, and/or Matlab

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a PhD in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacometrics, Pharmacology, or related mathematical/statistical field
  • Previous experience and interest in applying quantitative/mechanistic modeling to describe biological/pharmacological processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills
  • Must be enrolled in university during the internship period


Working Conditions
:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment
  • This is a hybrid role consisting of 2 days per week, in office. (remote only possible).
