Position Summary
:

Working in close collaboration with the President and COO, the Manager Corporate Development will evaluate and manage new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. This role will identify and review industry and market trends and apply the information to business development plans. The ideal candidate will use their exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills to support business objectives critical to the long term growth and success of the organization.


Primary Responsibilities
:

  • Conduct rigorous analyses, including valuation and business case modeling, to provide detailed guidance and insight regarding potential acquisitions and investments.
  • Oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify business leads.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives.
  • Support leaders in defining vision, strategies, and tactics.
  • Select, evaluate and develop exceptional talent that aligns with business objectives and culture.
  • Align strategy with company vision including the development of fellow team members, Corporate Development and M&A practices, and company culture.
  • Develop working relationships grounded in trust, collaboration, respect, and open assistance with all teammates.
  • Prioritize efforts and effectively escalate critical findings.
  • Use exceptional communication skills to clearly articulate ideas and share vision using slide decks and other presentation tools.


Required Qualifications
:

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years in M&A identification and execution preferably in a life science, biotech or pharmaceutical industry in a start up or demanding environment with highly motivated and driven professionals
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, including financial and valuation analyses
  • Excellent communication skills, including solid oral and writing capabilities
  • Uses a team-oriented, partnership and collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and evaluating business opportunities in terms of legal, regulatory, accounting, and tax implications


Working Conditions
:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Position is open to remote applicants but a hybrid position is preferred
  • This position requires up to 25% travel
