Job Description

This position is contingent upon award of contract.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below: 

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for VA members and their families. An Emergency Room RN provides critical care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions or trauma, quickly assessing their needs and delivering treatment. They collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to stabilize patients and ensure efficient emergency care. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and triage patients based on the severity of their conditions. 
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. 
  • Monitor vital signs and patient responses to interventions. 
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members. 
  • Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records. 
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families. 
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and procedure. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the emergency department. 
  • Respond to emergency situations with quick and effective action. 
  • Participate in training and continuing education to stay current in emergency care practices.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). 
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). 
  • A registered nurse (RN) will have a current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia. 
  • National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a nursing license. 

Education Required: 

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or  
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. 
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. 
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance. 

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. 

Compensation|  Min: $37hr        Max: $47hr
