Job Description

This position is contingent upon award of contract.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below: 

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Neurology Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care for patients with neurological conditions, facilitating assessments, education, and management of treatments while promoting optimal patient outcomes and quality of life. This includes coordinating patient care, supporting clinical procedures, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for individuals with neurological disorders. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough neurological assessments, including evaluating patients' medical histories, symptoms, and functional abilities to develop individualized care plans. 
  • Collaborate with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with neurological disorders. 
  • Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and rehabilitation options to promote understanding and adherence to treatment. 
  • Monitor patients for neurological changes, medication side effects, and overall health status, promptly addressing any concerns and adjusting care as necessary. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessment findings, treatments provided, and patient responses, in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. 
  • Support neurologists during outpatient procedures, diagnostic tests, or treatments, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:  

  • Three (3) years current outpatient experience required. 
  • Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia. 
  • National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a nursing license. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. 

Education Required: 

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or  
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. 

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. 

  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
