Job Description

 This position is contingent upon award of contract.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below: 

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Rheumatology Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care for patients with autoimmune and rheumatic diseases, facilitating assessments, treatment administration, and patient education to enhance disease management and quality of life. This role involves coordinating care, monitoring patient progress, and promoting effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with rheumatic diseases, including gathering detailed medical histories and evaluating symptoms. 
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including injections, while monitoring patients for potential side effects and effectiveness. 
  • Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications to improve health outcomes. 
  • Collaborate with rheumatologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and responses in compliance with clinic policies and regulations. 
  • Participate in arthritis education programs and support groups to enhance patient understanding and engagement in their care. 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:  

  • Three (3) years current outpatient experience required. 
  • Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia. 
  • National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a nursing license. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. 

Education Required: 

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or  
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. 
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. 
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance. 

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation|  Min: $35hr        Max: $45hr
