Are you passionate about helping people on Medical Assistance maintain their health insurance coverage? Hennepin Health is seeking an intern to help manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of strategies to ensure Hennepin County residents renew their Medicaid eligibility when it becomes due. This requirement was waived during COVID-19 as part of a continuous eligibility provision of the federal public health emergency. Starting in summer 2023, Medicaid enrollees will once again need to complete this annual requirement. This position will work in partnership with the Hennepin Health Eligibility Renewals project manager and a core team that is focused on this work. The position will focus on developing and documenting implementation plans, supporting implementation through operations, tracking outcomes and evaluating success of various member and partner/provider outreach and engagement efforts. The work has the potential to inform broader system policies around health care and eligibility for public programs.Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. Location and hours: This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site located in downtown Minneapolis at the Health Services Building, 525 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55487, in the community, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some flexibility. This position is anticipated to be 20 or more hours per week and can potentially last up to 6 months with the possibility of extension. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. In this position you will: Provide project management and coordination support.Track federal and state guidance impacting Medicaid eligibility redeterminations. Create, modify, and maintain project plans and other documentation.Work with communications personnel to develop internal and external communications. Work with analytics personnel and others to develop metrics that can measure the impact of various outreach efforts; assist in developing dashboards and other means of communicating results.Provide guidance and support in evaluating the overall success of the effort.Need to have: Current enrollment for 2023 – 2024 school year or 6-month post-graduation in a master's degree program in public health, public admin, healthcare administration/management, or related field.Reliable home internet for working remotely.Nice to have: An interest in health care policy. ExperienceWith managed care, particularly with State Medicaid programs. With project management. Analyzing and evaluating data. Ability toWork with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and/or Outlook) or Google equivalents.Knowledge ofPrinciples and practices of planning and program evaluation. Policy, procedure, and process analysis.
