IT Procurement Specialist

The Team:

The Enterprise Technology teams at Datadog are internally focused on the technology used every day by employees. Responsibilities include supporting our employees and the software they rely on, securing our networks, software and endpoints, building custom applications and collaborating with business teams on their processes and technology.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking our first procurement-focused team member for Enterprise Technology who will be involved in all parts of our purchasing at Datadog. You will work closely with all of Enterprise Technology and several other internal teams such as Procurement, Finance, Privacy, Legal, and external suppliers. This strategic role will support Datadog’s rapid growth, focusing on all aspects of sourcing, budgeting, purchase justifications, contracting, and general vendor management. 

You Will:

• Act as the main point of contact between Enterprise Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Legal on all purchases
• Assist in the creation of departmental budgets and track spend against the budgets
• Utilize headcount projections to ensure we always have adequate quantity of licenses for SaaS tools, as well as hardware and peripherals
• Manage the purchasing process which includes business justification, receiving quotes from vendors and processing purchase and contract requisitions in our Procurement system, Coupa.
• Manage and improve the full hardware lifecycle process
• Review all new software requests as part of our internal procurement process
• Ensure we have the correct tooling in place to track spend and hardware and license management
• Manage the relationship with hardware and software vendors and value-added resellers 
• Source new vendors and develop new relationships
• Establish and report on KPIs
• Monitor supply constraints and supply chain issues, and source alternatives when needed

You Are:

• Experience in IT procurement, purchasing or sourcing in a dynamic, fast-paced and global environment
• Communicate in a highly effective and professional manner (verbal and written)
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on quality assurance
• Understanding of budgeting and general Financial topics
• Ability to execute tasks in an accurate and timely manner while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, high growth startup environment
• Self-motivated, self-starting and a creative thinker
