Systems Analyst (Mid Level)

J-Mack Business Analysts advise and partner with our clients to provide domain expertise, stakeholder relationships, and advanced capability knowledge. They identify stakeholders’ business and system requirements, as well as translate, decompose needs into actionable software requirements, test criteria, and scenarios. Our systems analysts manage business requirements and clarify the intended functional behavior of software for stakeholders. They are servant leaders that can provide support to the team and understand the value streams and alignment of investment themes to business values to manage execution.

Seeking a Mid Level (5+ years of experience) Systems Analyst professional.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a cadence of communication with stakeholders, such as users and the sponsors of various efforts.
  • Understanding the business needs and documenting the requirements to serve as the specification for software development.
  • Serving as the development team representative.
  • Managing a hierarchy of requirements using various tools to ensure traceability.
  • Prioritizing requirements for inclusion into specific software releases by identifying relationships and dependencies between requirements and the estimation of technical effort.
  • Serving as the product owner and liaison between the technical team and the client for the purpose of establishing a common understanding of requirements and the as-built product.
  • Contributing to the preparation for and delivery of software system demonstrations to the user community.

Qualified candidates need:

  • Experience authoring epics and user stories, or equivalent requirements while adhering to best practices
  • Experience working on a team of developers and quality assurance analysts to support the creation of robust and thorough test cases and identify gaps
  • Experience communicating business needs to technical teams. Able to translate business requirements into technical specs and effectively act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams
  • Ability to abstract, synthesize and communicate complex requirements and adapt communication approach/style depending on the audience.Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, from an accredited institution, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to obtain Background Investigation Clearance
