As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in AI, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining AI-powered applications that solve high-impact challenges for enterprise customers. You will work with cross-functional teams to integrate commercial and open-source LLM APIs, develop RAG pipelines, and apply advanced AI techniques to improve application performance. Your role will involve mentoring junior engineers, optimizing AI workflows, and enhancing internal tooling while ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency across AI-driven products.

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain AI-powered enterprise applications, focusing on LLM API integration and optimization.
• Implement RAG pipelines, agent architectures, and fine-tuned model solutions to meet business and technical needs.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to identify AI opportunities and deliver intuitive user experiences.
• Develop robust backend services and APIs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance in AI features.
• Enhance internal AI developer tools, workflows, and infrastructure to streamline AI experimentation and increase productivity.
• Lead efforts to establish best practices for AI engineering, including prompt engineering, error handling, and system performance evaluation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the AI and application stack, ensuring high availability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with 3+ years of applied AI/ML experience.
• Proven experience integrating commercial LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) into modern applications.
• Deep understanding of AI model evaluation, prompt engineering, and RAG techniques.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native application development using serverless technologies (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.).
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks, evaluation methodologies, and benchmarking tools.
• Hands-on experience with RAG-based systems, vector databases, and AI evaluation pipelines.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
