The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of employment-related matters, including but not limited to harassment, retaliation, statutory leaves, disability accommodations, wrongful termination, workplace performance, workplace discipline, wage and hour laws, human resource compliance, and employment agreements. This role involves advising and representing employers in the development and implementation of employment contracts, employee handbooks, and policies and procedures.Responsibilities• Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment matters including harassment, retaliation, statutory leaves, disability accommodations, wrongful termination, workplace performance, and discipline.• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, and provide guidance on human resource compliance issues.• Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, contracts, and employee handbooks.• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with employee policies and procedures.• Represent employers in legal proceedings, prepare legal documents, and advise on risk management.• Conduct legal research and analysis, and keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations that affect employers.• Provide training and education to employers on employment laws and best practices.• Work collaboratively with other members of the legal team to achieve company objectives.Qualifications• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Employment Attorney or similar role.• Extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and experience in dealing with issues such as harassment, retaliation, statutory leaves, disability accommodations, wrongful termination, workplace performance, and discipline.• Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment agreements and contracts.• Strong understanding of wage and hour laws and human resource compliance.• Excellent legal research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.• Proven track record of representing employers in legal proceedings.• Membership in good standing of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bar.• Strong ethical and professional standards.Interested in hearing more?
