Position is to Supervise on a Part-Time, On-Call level, train, assist and inspire banquet staff that service food and beverage and/or event needs at in house, off site, and special events. Provide the highest level of guest service to exceed the event planners expectations. They serve as the primary line of contact before, during and immediately after an event.
CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, preparation and service requirements for assigned functions.
- Sign out for Banquet keys at the beginning of shift and return keys at the end of each shift.
- Inspect function areas for cleanliness, safety hazards, correct furniture set up and amount for guarantee.
- Be informed of Client’s names and background, any requests , and VIPs
- Maintain constant communication with client contact, do not leave the area unless absolutely necessary and all other options are exhausted.
- Checking to make sure that proper equipment and necessary working stock is available to staff prior to the start of their shift.
- Check attendance of staff and fill out late absent reports if needed.
- Oversee proper set up of rentals per the provided event floorplans and any additional tablescape details
- Before each shift, hold line up meetings with the banquet department, informing them of latest developments and any other information that may affect the banquet.
- Inform servers of ingredients, preparation and garnish of each menu item and any other food or beverage item that is part of the Banquet Event Order -B.E.O.
- Assign opening duties, teams, stations, set up requirements, side work, and closing duties.
- Supervise the timing of one or more events ensuring that all events are ready to start 15 minutes prior to listed time.
- Meet with the Chef to review guarantee, set up, special requests, service requirements & timing.
- Keep constant communication with Chef in regards to timing and pace of service during all event
- Coordinate breaks for assigned staff.
- Walk all banquet areas and check for any equipment, linens, props or anything left by any department and make sure it is stored properly.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations,
- Perform special projects or assignments based on guest’s needs or market demands.
- Any other task written or verbal, that is assigned by a supervisor or management.
SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS
In addition to the core focus and responsibilities, the candidate is expected to complete the following duties:
- Supervise flow and timing of one or more event at a time depending on size and scheduled start times
- Supervise and train banquet servers, set up housemen and bartenders in motivating fashion teamwork.
- Check and maintain proper staffing levels on a daily basis.
- Check and maintain uniform standards on a daily basis.
