About the role:
To reinforce our consulting team in the Madrid office, we are looking for a Risk Consultant with strong functional expertise coupled with a passion for technology and strong analytical and communication skills.

About the team:  

Our office in Madrid belongs to the Ambit Risk & Performance business unit which is part of FIS Capital Markets. We are a group of financial experts and skilled software engineers that work closely together to produce high quality software.

We offer the advantages of a strong, stable, and global organisation together with the agility of small, dynamic, and interdisciplinary teams working under a flat hierarchy.

What you will be doing :   

  • Provide onsite and remote implementation consulting in the field of Asset & Liability Management, Liquidity Risk Management and Market Risk for leading financial institutions in the Iberia region and the rest of Europe.

  • You’ll have extensive responsibilities right from the start, to analyse banking business together with designing solutions and managing your own projects.

  • As part of the delivery team:

  • Perform client requirements gathering workshops,

  • create project definition documents and project plans,

  • analyse, understand, and model banking data to ensure best quality input,

  • develop in-depth knowledge on bank’s Risk Management and how to calibrate and implement robust risk models,

  • guide and assist the clients in performing data validation and reconciliation, system integration and user acceptance testing,

  • deliver trainings and presentations,

  • build custom reports and draft client specific documentation.

  • Manage and deliver functional as well as technical aspects of projects and handle multiple projects in parallel.

  • Stay up to date on the latest reporting requirements in the regulatory space of balance sheet management and share know-how with team members

What you will bring:

  • Work experience ideally in Bank’s Risk Management, Bank’s Treasury, ALM, Risk Consulting, Implementation Consulting, or IT Consulting.

  • Your intellectual curiosity allows you to absorb new concepts quickly, think independently and develop creative and novel approaches to help our clients solve their problems.

  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills help you to cope with the demands of day-to-day business on projects.

  • Since we run a global business, a willingness to travel (10% to 20%).

  • Fluent Spanish and English are required,


Added bonus if you have: 

  • FRM/CFA or equivalent certificates

  • Working experience in Banks, Asset Liability Management or Risk Management divisions

  • Knowhow of FIS Balance Sheet Manager

  • Experience with using or implementing balance sheet management solutions from other vendors.

  • French and German are an asset.
