Lead the design and development of new medical devices, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and clinicians to define project requirements and develop design concepts. Utilize your expertise in design engineering to create innovative and cost-effective solutions that address customer needs. Conduct thorough research and analysis of market trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to inform design decisions. Develop and document detailed design specifications, including materials, dimensions, and manufacturing processes. Use CAD software to create 3D models, prototypes, and final designs, ensuring they meet all necessary specifications and regulations. Perform rigorous testing and validation of prototypes and final products, identifying and resolving any design flaws or issues. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments and advancements in medical device design and technology. Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on design progress and address any concerns or issues. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including FDA and ISO requirements. Mentor and train junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their roles. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of design processes, test results, and other project-related information. Continuously seek out opportunities for process improvement and optimization to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Represent Johnson & Johnson at industry events and conferences, showcasing our innovative products and networking with potential partners.
