We are committed to enhancing the diversity of our workforce teams and we encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to apply.Johnson & Wales University does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, disability, gender identity or expression, genetic information, national origin, actual or potential parental, family, or marital status, including pregnancy and related conditions, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, status as a protected veteran, or any other legally protected status in its programs, activities or employment.Essential Job Functions• Delivers course content, learning activities and assessments using the university’s online learning platform, according to JWU course outlines and online course delivery standards• Measures student achievement of course objectives• Maintains accurate records of student attendance, academic achievement and performance in accordance with university policies and procedures• Posts a syllabus that uses the university-approved syllabus template• Responds to requests for information and/or action from students and university administrators in a timely fashion (24 hours or less)• Communicates early with any student in danger of failure or in need of individual counseling• Refers students to appropriate university resources for information, guidance, financial assistance, career development, etc• Collaborates with instructional support team for online teaching orientation and course delivery preparation• Performs other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications• Minimum of a master's degree in computer science or a related field of study from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, or other appropriate accreditation as determined by Johnson & Wales University• Demonstrated ability in both theory and practice of core computer science concepts, including algorithmic thinking and problem-solving, programming languages, databases, and software development understanding• Experience with online teaching• Experience with Blackboard LMS• Successful candidates must be committed to working effectively with diverse student populationsPreferred Qualifications• Relevant professional experience working in computer science or other related workCompensation: $4,100 - $4,700/course dependent on course and degree of candidate.Benefits: This part-time position offers benefits, which includes an employee assistance program and travel assistance program. Adjunct faculty may become eligible for paid sick time.
