About the Role:
The Junior Software Developer contributes to the development and maintenance of Sound’s web based and mobile business applications under the direction of the Technical Product Manager and the Director of Software Development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze, develop, and test software solutions that achieve Sound’s business goals. The Jr. Software Developer is expected to contribute at an individual level under the direction of the Technical Product Manager
- As part of Sound’s agile Scrum team, collaborate with other team members to estimate upcoming work, plan development sprints, self-assign appropriate work items, and review sprint achievements
- Clearly communicate status to Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, and other project participants
- Participate in on-call support rotation and assist application support team with resolution of support issues as assigned by Director of Software Development
- Write clear and concise documentation of new and existing systems
- Develop knowledge of software development life cycle and tools, including
- Microsoft Suite of development products
- Web application development
- Mobile application development
- Azure Cloud Services
- Azure SQL Database Platform and tools
- Appian Low-Code Platform
Education, Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum: College level coursework in Math or Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Preferred: BA/BS Math or Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to haves:
- Experience working on an Agile team
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure (Storage, Function Apps, AppInsights, etc.)
- Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as Vue (preferred), Angular, React, etc.
- Knowledge of C#, .NET / .NET Core, SQL, and NServiceBus
