The Opportunity

Join the MMSD Annuity team in the new roles of Key Account Operations Associate. Great opportunity to shape the role, implement process and support the key account managers in expanding distribution partners, launching new products, support conferences, drive due diligence proposals and coordinate key logistics.

The Team

The MassMutual Strategic Distributors Annuity Team is comprised of key account managers, key account operations, CE delivery, competitor analysts, training, and reporting roles. The team manages the overall strategy, key relationships, wholesaler partnership, training, marketing plans and drives the sales results of the annuity marketplace. We are a nimble entrepreneurial team that started the annuity third party business several years ago from scratch and are now selling over $9B+ in annual annuity sales. We continue to operate in a nimble entrepreneurial environment as we expand our team, expand our product set, and strive for our next level of sales growth. Everyone has a voice on the team!

As a Key Account Operations associate, you will have the opportunity to partner with Key Account Managers, Delivery and Project Management Team, Customer Experience and Wholesaling Team to create a seamless onboarding experience, smooth product expansion process and support the key account team in adding value to our partnerships, wholesalers and financial advisors to further build customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide sales and/or client retention support to a specific line of business. Develop and execute strategies to continuously improve the design and delivery of sales support and/or client retention programs.

  • Coordinate, plan, develop and implement sales support projects and recommend appropriate strategies, actions, and/or alternatives for business decisions relative to the projects under area of responsibility.

  • Responsible for resolving and/or conducting research to resolve problems and/or issues that impact sales support and/or client retention programs.

  • May provide technical support to intermediary, field force or direct sellers. May complete RFP responses and provide direct sales and/or client retention support to regional/ field sales and/or client/account management associates. May perform functions which contribute to the development of strategies that help maintain, and improve existing and new sales proposals, brochures, illustrations and presentation material.

  • May develop/participate in and implement sales support and/or client retention training.

Onboarding/New Product Launches

  • Support the Key Account Managers in the prospecting, due diligence, requirement gathering and launch of new distribution partners.

  • Own the completion/distribution of RFP responses, product due diligence packets/responses and sales material due diligence process. Build an RFP library of approved content.

  • Represent key account managers on assigned onboarding calls with firms and internal meetings.

  • Manage selling agreements from gathering information, amendments, signing and creation and management of compensation schedules.

General Operations

  • Support the Key Account Manager in the coordination and execution of resources, needed for firm conferences/meetings.

  • Create a detailed event plan.

  • Responsible for managing/tracking the product due diligence process.

  • Responsible for submitting and tracking all marketing material firm filings. Coordinate with marketing and wholesaling team.

  • Own funnel leads for submission to WealthVest for KAM and coordinate with MMSD Annuity Reporting Team for tracking and reporting.

  • Manage selling agreements from gathering information, amendments, signing and creation and management of compensation schedules.

  • Partnering with client service and delivery maintain firm profiles from creation through quarterly updates.

  • Tactical support for SP&D initiatives, entering updates around milestones, expenses and sales results.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 5+ years experience in the financial services industry

  • 5+ years experience working with MS Office Suite

  • 3+ years experience working knowledge of third-party distribution.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, detail orientation and relationship management skills are a must for this position

  • Strong knowledge of annuity solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill

Position Location

  • You will be required to work from either our Boston, MA or Springfield, MA in a hybrid capacity (2-3 days a week)
