The Tax Analyst will assist in preparing indirect tax filings (U.S. Sales and Use Tax and Canadian GST/QST/HST) and certain direct tax returns (e.g., property tax, gross receipts tax). This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and supports the tax team with various projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Prepare and file indirect tax returns (e.g., U.S. Sales and Use Tax, Canadian GST/QST/HST).
  • Prepare and file direct tax returns (e.g., property tax, gross receipts tax).
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing data for corporate income tax reporting.
  • Research and interpret indirect tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation to support audits and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.
  • Contribute to tax planning strategies to minimize indirect tax liabilities.
  • Supports the tax team with various projects and initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in tax compliance or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
