Overview

Kimley-Horn's Sacramento, CA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with at least 3 years of experience to join their Water/Wastewater and Utilities team!

Responsibilities

  • Perform multiple aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of engineering principles under supervision and direction of senior staff.
  • Assisting in the delivery of project assignments involving planning, design, and construction services for water and wastewater conveyance systems, pump stations, water treatment systems, master plans, and condition assessment and rehabilitation of infrastructure systems
  • Projects will include a variety of water and wastewater utilities designs for both private and municipal clients
  • In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinating work with other team members
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects
  • Maintaining a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others
  • Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules
  • As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant wastewater engineering design experience for municipal and/or private sector clients
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering
  • "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Relevant engineering experience that includes development of design plans and calculations for water or wastewater pipelines and pump stations
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software (using programs such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical ideas and concepts to other team members
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team

Salary Range: 

$85,000 - $115,000
