Individual Resiliency Training Specialist / Therapist (New Journeys) - Full Time
Hiring Range: $29.58 - $36.97 per hour

Hiring Bonus: $3,000*

The Individual Resiliency Training Specialist / Therapist is an essential member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients. This role includes providing therapy, education, consultation to families, and crisis intervention services for clients assigned to the team.

New Journeys is a team-based, multi-disciplinary, recovery-oriented model serving individuals between the ages of 15-40 years experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Treatment is highly individualized, serving a maximum of 20-30 clients at any time per the New Journeys model used throughout Washington State.


 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual therapy and symptom management using the Individual Resiliency Training curriculum and evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis and motivational interviewing.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly consultation calls for clinical support in treating clients with first-episode psychosis.
  • Coordinate individual treatment services for 20-30 assigned clients.
  • Collaboratively develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise treatment goals and plans using recovery-based concepts and language.
  • Provide culturally competent, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and measurement-based care for clients.
  • Assist the team in conducting an initial comprehensive assessment of clients' psychiatric history, mental status, physical health, substance use, education, social functioning, and family relationships.
  • Document client progress in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in daily staff meetings and treatment planning review meetings.
  • Educate clients about substance use and its impact on mental and physical health, as well as collaborate on reducing or abstaining from substance use.
  • Provide and coordinate outreach and crisis intervention services as needed, in coordination with the team.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

 

This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.

 

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (can be obtained after hire)

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Experience in a therapeutic outpatient treatment setting is highly preferred.  Experience in providing utilization reviews is highly preferred.

Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment.

Capacity to work well with children and families.

*A sign-on bonus is a form of compensation for a new employee in addition to their established salary
