Your mission:
Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) modelling is at the core of what we do - it drives our ability to calculate impact, determine payouts for farmers and partners, and ensure compliance. Your mission is to elevate the accuracy and reliability of our modelling, balancing the complexities of scientific precision with commercial and budgetary considerations. This role is critical to delivering impactful solutions for regenerative agriculture and scaling our organisation.
Your Responsibilities:
Take ownership of measuring and modelling climate and sustainability metrics and indicators:
Drive state-of-the-art SOC modelling and other critical metrics to support Klim’s programs.
Develop a comprehensive modelling strategy to evaluate both economic and ecological outcomes of whole-farm management practices.
Approach accuracy with a pragmatic and meticulous mindset, focusing on achieving results effectively.
Provide thought leadership for Klim’s scientific foundation, ensuring soil science perspectives align with other teams and uphold scientific integrity.
Oversee the effective and efficient collection of data essential for accurate modelling.
Lead the adaptation of models to account for diverse climate zones and geographies.
Manage and inspire a team of SOC modelling and data collection experts, driving innovation and excellence.
Your profile:
Deep understanding of soil science: ideally you have a PhD in soil science
Deep understanding of process-based agricultural models and crop models
Proven ability to manage a team
Experience with modelling and SOC measurement
You bring a commercial mindset and a strong understanding of the dynamics of a startup environment.
