The Team

The Brand Media team owns the strategy and execution of integrated paid media campaigns across multiple channels globally in support of Kraken’s brand marketing objectives. 

Reporting to the Director of Paid Marketing, this role will lead media strategy and planning focused on building awareness of the Kraken brand, building demand for our products and expanding the total addressable crypto market.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the media landscape and ad tech, with a passion for data and analytics and experience scaling brand media campaigns globally. 

This is a fast-growing team full of some of the best marketing talent in the world, with deep expertise and conviction in the crypto space. This role involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced and feedback-driven environment to solve complex business problems where you will be given the opportunity to add value from day one in an incredibly visible role in the organization.

This is a fully remote position.

The opportunity

  • Manage strategy, planning and implementation of media plans for all Kraken products globally

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across product, design, data analytics, regional operations, and brand marketing to create and execute integrated media strategies 

  • Own the relationship with our brand media agency, partnering closely to ensure high level of planning rigor and best-in-class campaigns from our agency media teams

  • Manage and optimize budget allocation across paid media channels to maximize impact against our primary KPIs

  • Track, analyze and report on campaign performance, uncovering insights to optimize our media plans and campaign creative.

  • Own and socialize media KPIs and campaign performance across the organization, acting as a trusted advisor to the broader marketing team as our in-house brand media expert

  • Exceed aggressive performance goals through a data-driven approach that prioritizes constant experimentation and optimization

  • Drive media innovation and creativity by thinking outside of the box and failing fast

  • Manage a seven-figure brand media budget.

Skills you should HODL

  • 7+ years experience working in media strategy, planning & buying.

  • Foundational and expansive knowledge of all facets of media including: strategic planning, execution, measurement, supplier and agency landscape.

  • Passion for media and a thorough working knowledge of advertising industry trends, emerging ideas and opportunities, as well as tools, technologies and platforms.

  • Proven success in developing and implementing large-scale, global paid media campaigns, preferably within the crypto, fintech or consumer technology sectors.

  • Comfortable managing multiple campaigns and large budgets in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to clearly articulate impact and influence through data-driven story-telling.

  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to translate metrics into actionable insights.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a self-starter; able to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Must be adaptable and handle risk and uncertainty effectively.

  • B2C experience is a must.

  • Crypto/fintech experience is preferred but not required.
