What You'll Do

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is searching for a full-time lab technician to join our application engineering (AE) team in San Jose, CA. The candidate will be responsible for testing and handling memory products, lab maintenance, assets management, precision PCB/component reworks and validation tests as well as generating test reports. Experience of working in a hardware test environment and the ability to communicate effectively is essential to the position.

Location:
Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose Headquarters 3-5 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time

  • Perform quality control tests in the lab.
  • Assist system engineers with testing; prepare devices and equipment for test.
  • Install, upgrade, configure, and diagnose all lab hardware and software.
  • Prepare test results according to instructions
  • Inspection of test equipment for any sign of damage that my need repair or replacement
  • Proactively and professionally manage lab equipment in accordance with company guidelines.

What You Bring

  • 1+ years of lab experience in hardware testing environment
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality.
  • Lab skills for soldering/instrumenting systems for test or debug.
  • Experience reworking fine pitch components.
  • Experience working with validation engineers setting up test benches.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Shown computer skills, able to run diagnostic software and test scripts.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient experience in using MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
  • Experience in troubleshooting computer hardware issues involving multiple point failures.
  • Experience in setting up a LAN.
  • Familiar with Linux OS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays

The pay range below is for all roles at this level across all US locations and functions. Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location, as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. Base Pay Range

$59,199—$128,800 USD
