Job description:

Electroimpact specializes in aircraft assembly automation. Our core businesses are Robotics, Automated Fiber Placement, Automated Riveting Machines and Wing Assembly Lines.

We are seeking an experienced, self-directed machinist to join our team on the Swing Shift to set-up and run our Large-Frame Union Horizontal CNC Boring Mill. The machine has 45 feet of X travel, 20 Feet of Y travel and 5 feet of Z travel.

We are not the typical high-volume job shop. Run quantities are anywhere from one to ten parts. All the parts we make are for the machines and equipment Electroimpact designs and builds.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Working with engineers, programmers, planners, other machinists to produce quality parts in a timely manner, per schedule.
  • Ensuring parts are within tolerances defined on drawings and CAD models supplied by engineers.
  • Working with engineers to determine disposition of parts when out of print spec.
  • Understanding and complying with AS9100 standards and procedures
  • Understanding and complying with best machining practices.
  • Operating overhead crane & forklift to load, unload parts and fixturing. Parts can weigh in excess of 20,000 pounds.

Qualified candidates should have the following:

  • At least 4 years of training and experience on similar equipment.
  • Able to physically load/move materials and operate machine shop equipment throughout a whole shift.
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs. on occasion, unassisted.
  • Able to work unsupervised for the majority of your shift.
  • Able to speak, read, analyze and interpret written procedures & engineering drawings in English
  • Should be proficient with a computer. (CAD/MasterCAM/SolidWorks knowledge a plus).
  • Over 18 years old.
  • Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Qualified applicants may be asked to complete a background check and drug testing.
  • Able to furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Ideal candidates will have:

Aerospace experience; G-code programming knowledge; excellent analytical, technical & problem-solving skills; organizational & planning skills; ability to interface with all other disciplines within organization; a good attitude; good attention to detail; and good references.

Work is performed in a shop environment which can have exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise at times.

Swing Shift is Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM, 10-hr shifts, with a 1/2 hour paid lunch.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hourly

Wage: $32-$40/hr DOE
