As a lathe operator, this position is responsible for machining, repairing, and fabricating rolls and other parts. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience with the set up and operation of lathes, VTL, milling machine, 4” boring bar, keyway cutter, portable shot blast according to plant procedures.

Expectations

The lathe operator must be able to do drilling, taping, grinding, some welding, torching, etc. You will be expected to make minor adjustments/repairs when necessary, and keep machinery in good, clean working order, including the maintaining of oil and coolant levels. You will also remove and install bearings, repair fits by using brush plating and flame spraying, cut off rubber roll covers as needed, and maintain quality of product throughout process. You will also prepare time and production records as required. May perform other jobs or duties as required by supervisor.

Starting pay at $32.28 an hour.

To succeed in this role, you will need

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with strong mechanical aptitude. Mush have a minimum of 3-5 years manual Lathe experience. Knowledge of specifications within job functions. Operate crane and forklift safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
