Assistant Controller (NetSuite Experience)

Job Summary:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the Controller in managing the accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NetSuite and a solid background in tax accounting. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to leverage their technical accounting knowledge and gain leadership experience within a dynamic organization. This position offers 3 remote days per week.


Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting and Month-End Close:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial data.
  • Tax Compliance and Reporting:
  • Oversee tax accounting and compliance, including federal, state, and local tax filings.
  • Support the Controller in managing tax strategies, planning, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for tax purposes and coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
  • NetSuite Management:
  • Act as a key user and administrator of NetSuite, ensuring accurate financial data and streamlining processes.
  • Provide NetSuite training to the finance team, manage system upgrades, and resolve any issues related to system functionality.
  • Develop and implement best practices for using NetSuite, optimizing system features for efficient financial reporting.
  • Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
  • Assist in designing and maintaining internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of financial operations.
  • Support annual audit preparations and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Support and mentor junior team members, providing guidance on financial tasks and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support companywide financial initiatives and contribute to strategic planning.
