Job Title: Bridge Engineer

Location: Albany NY

Employment Type: Full-Time

 

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bridge Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with bridge design and engineering for New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) projects, as well as proficiency in AASHTOware or MicroStation. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging infrastructure projects, contributing to the safety and efficiency of transportation systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Develop detailed bridge designs, plans, and specifications in compliance with NYSDOT standards.

Utilize AASHTOware and/or MicroStation software to create and analyze bridge models and designs.

Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure the safety, stability, and longevity of bridge projects.

Review and interpret project plans, technical documents, and construction specifications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, civil engineers, and contractors, to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.

Conduct inspections and evaluations of existing bridge structures and prepare detailed assessment reports.

Ensure all projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).

Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or ability to obtain within 6 months.

3+ years of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on NYSDOT projects.

Proficiency in AASHTOware and/or MicroStation software.

Strong understanding of NYSDOT standards, policies, and procedures.

Experience with structural analysis, design, and modeling tools.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of other civil engineering software such as AutoCAD or Bentley products.

Experience with project management or leadership roles in bridge-related projects.
