JOB TITLE: Engineering Manager

LOCATION: West Chester, PA

STATUS: Full-time, Direct Hire


The Engineering Manager will oversee the engineering and design teams responsible for packaged systems quoting, design, drawings, and submittals for commercial and industrial applications. These systems include pumps, air compressors, heat exchangers, motors, piping, instruments, and control panels mounted on fabricated steel bases or inside building enclosures.


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. PE preferred.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years in a related industry, with direct management experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with drawing software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks are MUSTS).
  • Key Skills:

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Management (60%)
  • Direct the Application Engineering, Design/Drafting, and Controls Engineering staff.
  • Hire, train, and develop the engineering department team as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain efficient processes and workflows for staff.
  • Ensure cost sheets, submittals, and drawings are consistently accurate.
  • Oversee engineering quoting and submittal schedules to ensure timely project completion.
  • System Design (40%)
  • Lead design efforts for custom packaged systems, continuously expanding departmental capabilities.
  • Ensure all designs meet internal standards and best engineering practices.
  • Use internal and external resources to ensure compliance with current codes and regulations.
  • Provide technical support to customers, shop staff, and project managers, troubleshooting design-related issues.
  • Manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Solve issues effectively with cooperation and persistence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
