Financial Analyst (GovCon Experience)

Position Summary:


The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities within the organization, specifically related to government contracting. This role involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, developing budgets, conducting variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of government contracting processes, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and CAS (Cost Accounting Standards), as well as experience working with various government agencies. This position has potential for hybrid flexibility after 90 days.


Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts for government contracts.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis on cost, pricing, and profitability of contracts.
  • Prepare variance analysis reports and explain significant variances to management.
  • Support strategic planning by providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Government Contracting Compliance:
  • Ensure all financial activities comply with FAR, CAS, and other relevant government regulations.
  • Review and analyze contract terms and conditions to assess financial implications and compliance risks.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of cost proposals and other contract-related financial documents.
  • Work closely with the contracts team to monitor contract performance and compliance.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of indirect cost rates and other financial schedules required for government audits.
  • Audit Support:
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) audit requirements.
  • Address and resolve audit findings and recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay current on industry trends and government regulations impacting financial management in government contracting.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve overall organizational performance.


$70,000 - $95,000 a year
