Lead Engineer - Customer

Webasto Roof Systems Inc. is currently recruiting for a Lead Engineer located at their HQ in Auburn Hills, MI.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead a team of Engineers and Designers from a technical, timing and cost standpoint to meet all the required project deliverables
Guide engineering team to ensure that robust technical solutions are developed for product design applications from concept through production
Provide guidance to engineering the team to ensure that appropriate engineering analysis and material selections are performed
Work with other Group Leaders such as Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality and Validation to achieve high quality and uniformity of engineering, design and material standards and specifications; work to develop product strategy for standardization
Review and approve product designs, engineering changes, tolerance stack-ups and engineering documentation, including but not limited to DFEMA, DVP&R, drawings and design assumptions
Conduct design reviews internally and with customers
Act as a senior level liaison with customers, suppliers and engineers
Support and directly participate in new business development and acquisition
Approve deviations for Product Engineering for assigned product responsibility

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Materials Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and educations
~10 years cumulative automotive product engineering experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial or materials engineering disciplines
Experience with interpreting customer specifications and requirements
Knowledge GD&T, 8D, DOE, DFMEA, PDM systems and Robust Design
