Leadership Development Trainee

Primary Function

The Manufacturing Leadership Development Program (MLDP) accelerates the growth and development of early-career talent with the goal of building strong future manufacturing leaders. This 3-to-4-year rotational program offers (3) rotations in three (3) different A.O. Smith facilities exposing the individual to challenging functional assignments and opportunities that will strengthen their leadership skills and provide a better understanding of the business. Qualified candidates will perform a variety of manufacturing duties in plant engineering, production supervision, materials management, and continuous improvement. The first rotation will begin in McBee, SC.

Responsibilities

The specific responsibilities for this position will vary depending on the rotation assignment. In general, in addition to being responsible for achieving individual business objectives (IBOs) outlined for the rotation assignment, development and growth in the following areas will also be a critical part of each assignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; business, engineering, or technical major preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 or better out of 4.0 is required.

Additional Qualifications:

• Prior internship or co-op experience in manufacturing preferred OR 1-2 years of professional work experience in manufacturing.
• Strong organizational and project management skills and an analytical approach to problem.
• The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and a drive to collaborate with and lead others.
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel,etc.).
• Ability to adapt quickly and navigate ambiguity.
• Ability/desire to relocate for variety of opportunities.
