About the job
Our Legal Division is looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team! As a Legal Counsel, you will be providing legal advice and assistance throughout our organization. You will independently perform a full range of legal services and maintain a diverse workload, but your primary focus will be on negotiating a wide variety of contracts, including software licenses, hosted managed services agreements, and professional services agreements, with government customers.
As a Legal Counsel you will:

Working with internal groups including Sales, Finance, Professional Hosting and Services, and other departments to structure customer proposals and agreements

Preparing and negotiating transactional agreements with government customers, including license agreements, professional services agreements and hosted managed services agreement

Managing legal business matters pertaining to SAS as assigned; this role would support Government clients

Providing a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to a number of in-house clients

Provide legal counsel and oversight for basic to complex legal matters affecting the company

Regularly interacts with senior internal and external individuals

Researches and analyzes proposed transactions, assesses risks and rewards, and recommends strategies to minimize risk to the company

Leads contractual negotiations, primarily with government customers
Required Qualifications
-
Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school

Licensed to practice law by being admitted to and a member in good standing of at least one state bar

5-7yrs of legal experience.

Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior in-house corporate legal counsel
- 2 years of contracts experience at a mid-size to large-size law
- Experience with governmental clients and government RFPs
