DescriptionLeidos has an immediate opening for a Mission Planning Weapons Software Architect on the Systems Engineering & Integration Contract (SEIC), supporting Air Force & Navy Mission Planning. You will be joining a dynamic Engineering & Integration team designing and building next-generation Mission Planning solutions for deployment in various production environments. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies to address a diverse and expansive set of Mission Planning requirements.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be energetic, organized, eager to learn and comfortable working & speaking in a team environment, placing a high value on collaboration and team success. Core responsibilities include:• Serving as the USAF Mission Planning Lead Weapons Engineer/Architect• Supporting Enterprise & Solution Architecture modernization activities, including architecture and model updates, roadmap/planning updates, and creating software development work packages within workflow management tools• Assisting in decomposing Mission Planning Solution Capabilities into development Features and Stories within a micro-service based architecture• Joining the Weapons Agile Release Train (ART) triad in analyzing, planning, prioritizing, and assigning Features and Stories to development teams for each Program Increment; working with development teams to ensure acceptance criteria are met• Developing disconnected, network & cloud deployment models for Next Gen Mission Planning software to support the varied security and availability needs of a diverse user base• Developing Software & System Architecture Views, using various architecture modeling tools• Analyzing conflicting requirements & formulating architectural solutions/technical profiles to balance diverse needs• Managing Software interfaces between architectural components; overseeing interface evolution• Supporting technical assessments, trade-studies, white papers, and other technical analysis activities• Providing key inputs into technology evaluation and technology insertion planning activities• Communicating the Software Architecture to developer organizations and other stakeholders• Supporting the development and management of the Next Gen Solution and ART backlogs.• Acting as a key stakeholder at the Solution or Program levels in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).Basic Qualifications• U.S. Citizenship (no dual or Green Card/Permanent Resident Card)• DoD Secret-level Security Clearance• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.• In-depth knowledge of current Air Force/Navy weapons planning software capabilities & needs• 12+ years of various experience throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, integration & test, deployment, and maintenance• Operational and Systems-level weapons architecture design experience with tools such as Enterprise Architect, System Architect, or similar• Understanding of micro services architectures and the role of containerization in deployment• Understanding of cloud technologies, cloud deployment techniques, and Web Technology Stacks in Java or .NET• Experience successfully implementing agile software development processes• Experience with Atlassian Engineering tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Jira Align)Preferred Qualifications• Hands-on operational military Mission Planning or Command & Control experience, or experience as a Mission Planning Field/System Support Representative• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery tools (Jenkins, TFS, Maven or Nuget)• Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio and Java development tools such as NetBeans, Eclipse, IntelliJ or similar• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture enterprise development using cross platform standards-based protocols, such as SOAP, REST, JSON and XML• Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Development with the .NET or J2EE frameworks, along with development languages/technologies such as Python, Node.js and server-side JavaScript• Experience using message buses such as RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ or ActiveMQ• Experience with writing secure code and secure applications including securing REST and SOAP end-points for authentication and authorization• Experience with prototyping, Object Oriented concepts and Functional Programming• Experience designing/working with parallelization of operations and asynchronous programming• Experience with Application Profiling tools to monitor application performance/isolate problemsOriginal Posting Date:2024-12-04While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
